Yesterday I spent the late afternoon getting to know Finley. She was a very mellow, happy baby. I loved trying to capture her brilliant blue eyes and smiles. The eyes were easy! She tried to hold back on smiles unless mom was doing a crazy dance or dad was running around!

Kristin and Pat it was fun getting to know you both. You have a beautiful family! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening to take photos. I’ll post a few more so check back in a couple days.

Spent the morning with this bright blue eyed newborn a few days ago.   Win’s family used to live only a few blocks away so it was fun to see their new home. More importantly, it was fun to see his family! I have known his mom since I was about 8. I would see her every summer at my cabin when she visited one of my best friends, her cousin. It’s weird to think our oldest kiddos aren’t that far away from 8! Emily and Joel, thank you for spending the morning with me. And, Eli, thanks for sharing the bean bag!

Last week on a beautifully sunny day, I met my friend at Richardson Nature Center for a hike with our kids. I wanted to get some photos of her daughter along the way. I appreciate the bright warmth in these photos even more after a day like today. My kids wore sweatshirts and long pants to school. The weather can changes so quickly this time of year.

I am so glad we met at the park Angie. Can’t wait until it works again and hopefully the weather will be as beautiful! I want to get pictures of Patrick next!

I spent the morning meeting sweet Annie. I don’t think she cried once while I was there….maybe during a diaper change. She slept and ate and slept some more. What a perfect little model for her first photo shoot! Her big sister, Izzie, was there to help me with props and even shared a few animal crackers. Keri and Mike thank you for sharing your family with me. You have two beautiful girls!

Reese's peaceful sleep

There always has to be a first, I’d never had anyone fall asleep during a shoot.  Well, except for newborns of course!    20 minutes into our one year photo shoot, Reese had fallen asleep in her mom’s arms.  It was her birthday and she had celebrated the day before.  Now she was tired.  We let her sleep and headed back home to set up for  a cake smash.  She had no problem waking up when she saw the cake!
