Back in July,  I returned from our family vacation to 6 newborn sessions in 8 days.  Now all of those newborns are ready for their mid year sessions.  It is so fun to see how each has changed and grown.  Smiles, chubby bellies, drool, and a tiny peek at a developing personality  all make me smile and love my job.

This week I get to catch up with 3 little kiddos!  Sweet bright eyed Callie is one of them.

Big blue eyed infant with sweet smile

Today I spent the morning with Callie and her mom.   It is always nice to spend time with her family!  They were one of the first to trust me when I first ventured outside of

my family and friends to take photos.  One of the best parts of my job is meeting families who become friends!

I spent the evening at the park with my son’s teacher and her beautiful family. I usually take pictures of newborns and little ones toddling around. It was a fun change of pace to photograph school aged kiddos. There were lots of stories to listen to about trains and boats, a few jokes shared, and even some posing for the camera.

One year old does so big with big smiles

I spent Saturday morning with Henry and his parents at a park near their home.  He shared his favorite talent of doing “so big” many times.  You may recognize Henry from my website.  He is the adorable little newborn inside the bucket on my splash page….and now he’s 1!

newborn-outside-in-green-hat-and-wrapOn the night you were born,
The moon smiled with such wonder
That the stars peeked in to see you
And the night wind whispered,
“Life will never be the same.”
Because there had never been anyone like you… ever in the world.

Not once had there been such eyes,
Such a nose,
Such silly, wiggly, wonderful toes.

For never before in story or rhyme
(not even once upon a time)
Has the world ever known a you, my friend,
And it never will, not ever again.

It has been a busy summer of newborns. Taking photos of all of these loved babies is a wonderful way to spend a summer!

Thank you all for sharing your new ones with me in their first days of life!

A couple of Sundays ago I had the joy of meeting Charlotte and her family.  She is the youngest of 3 sweet girls.  As a mom to 3 boys it was fun to have some fun with pink for the day!

peaceful sleeping newbornIt was such a joy to finally meet Chloe and her family.  My husband was a guest at their home last year and came home excited about a new hobby Chloe’s dad had introduced him to…the unicycle!  My husband spent last summer learning how to ride the unicycle that was lent him and finally decided he was ready to make a purchase.  That was when a deal was made!  I would photograph sweet Chloe and my husband would keep the unicycle.  (Rumor has it that Chloe’s dad has a fleet of them.)   I spent last Saturday afternoon cuddling and photographing Chloe and her meeting her wonderful parents.  Jennifer and Dave, your daughter is beautiful!  Can’t wait to see her riding around someday on her own mini unicycle!

I met sweet Andrew a little over a week ago when he was 4 days old! He looked so peaceful when he slept…which he did a lot of during our session. His mom is a 1st grade teacher, I was too for many years. It was fun to talk about teaching and think about my former students and co-workers.   Mary and Rob, Drew is beautiful. Thank you for letting me spend time with you in his first days. It is always a joy to meet a new family!

And my favorite from our time together:
